Hi,

Thanks. I tried unplugging everything. No difference. Sometimes I get an 8.8.8. locked display.

I took the lid off and checked for loose chips; didn't find anything obvious and pushed everything down a little for good meaure. No change. I am thinking to try and use the ROM/memory from a known working unit..... Not sure how to extract the ROM though without damaging it. Any tips?

It doesnt look like an error message, I too think that its loose chips... after shipping... I do have a simerlar thing happen when i switch on my edp´s in the wrong order, so maybe its the opodite of what you say, UNplug everything before you plug it in, and see if makes a change, could be that your footpedal is faulty?

very likely this is the case.
1) open up EDP
2) push down firmly on all chips

if that doesn't fix it, then try removing and reseating the chips

When I power it on it very quickly lights up to a steady:
