Taking VSTs out on the road

Hmmm,

I knew sooner or later my ears would prick up and i would start thinking about this one.... virtual instruments!!

basically I WILL NEVER use a traditional "pc or mac" computer in my music..i cant explain why  but I wont, its not my thing...EVER!!

so now that hats out or the way im going to get all contrary..........

I have started to look at buying a used Korg PadKontrol, with the notion of using it to create diatonic presets to use with my micro kord and EA1 synths ( basically im not a keys player so i figure i will rule out the bum notes and play by feal through assigning custom scales to my pads).

so I am quite far along this route when I realise that basically the keys of the microkorg and the knobs of the EA1 are now pretty moot..... BUT I STILL DONT WANT A LAPTOP!!!

so basically and finally, is there a little box I can use without a screen and whatnot where i can chuck in a nice VSTi synth, some samples and possibly a good drunm kit ( I dont mind using a computer at the editing stage) and then unplug and just have it act similar to the "brain" of a v-drum basically a custom sound module ( or is there any really good midi sound modules you can recommend for drums , ethnic precussion and synth sounds.

also anyone using pads in a diatonic way like this?

ta for the long read

hi ,

im a big supported of the digitech delay and my take on it was that feedback 0-97% of the knobs rotation equalled incresed feedback with 97% being continuous...however the bit that was cool for me was that 100% SHUT OFF the input to the delay but allowed it to keep playing ....which let me use the delay in a more loop orientated way, capturing audio then punching out to solo over it without that solo being added, then drop the knob back sub %100 when  i was ready to add in more.

i thought it was a genius feature but that they didnt explain it properly to the audience.

well thats how mine works.

thanks for the info on the dl-8,
a bummer about it's little quirks, i had the same thing w/ the 1st digitech digidelay-
for some reason, when i put the feedback to 100%, it would not continue, it would fade out, w/ the 4 sec of delay, which bummed me out.
so i got rid of it.
then a yr later, i decided to try one again, bought this one new, and the 100% feedback worked great, and i used it a lot for short 4 sec loops.
odd, oh well, guess you can never tell what's going on in the  electronics w/ some pedals....
