So, Chris, there is no such thing as someone who knows more than someone
else?
.....no such thing as someone who is so well informed and who has worked
with
so many people that they can make an educated guess as to what will work
for someone
and someone who won't?
It's all a sea of subjective bullshit to you?
Asking the questions I did, illicited a lot of responses from several
musicians here.
It's frequently easy to ascertain who deeply read what the question was
and what the parameters laid out were. It's called discernment.
I already had a good idea what to recommend this person based on the gear
he already owns, his playing ability, his aspirations as a musician and
his time commitment he's able to make.
By listening to all the recommendations made here, I learned something
and discovered three pedals that I didn't know about before this thread:
three pedals that I'll recommend and probably three pedals Ill end up
purchasing myself because I highly respect the musicians who made the
recommendations.
They really helped me to make a good choice.
Additionally, I am able to send local music stores the business from my
client purchasing these recommendations (which also helps out the
musicians that they employ in our town that is having such a hard time
economically).
I'm really glad I posed the question. I learned something and my client
will
get the benefit out of all of it.
Sorry your bullshit meter prevents you from getting the good that came out
of it.
That's your loss, not mine.
Now I'm going to get back to that most heinous and usurous of all things:
making a living by being involved with music, professionally.
