Changes #1 Video on You Tube -- Changes 1,2,3 on exhibit Monson MA

Hi folks,

I've uploaded a new studio piece entitled Changes #1 to my You Tube

The first 3 videos in the changes sequence will be on exhibit at a 
lovely art's show in Monson MA (West of Sturbridge). I've been 
exhibiting at this show almost every year, and it just keeps getting 
better. This year's theme is "Black & White &  Everything In Between"

The opening is Saturday from 2 - 4 PM. It's worth the trip!

Changes #1 reverses my usual live improvisatory process. I was asked 
to perform at an on line media event called The Virtual Sound and 
Video Festival. I didn't want to limit myself to web-cam quality, so, 
instead of improvising live, I composed a piece that was like my 
visual improvs, but without the rapid fire cutting I do live.

I decided to use a lot of different thematic  material, and to try to 
combine themes in different combinations. This was a different way of 
working for me and I enjoyed the challenge. Most of my studio pieces 
are focused on a single theme, while my live pieces are 
improvisations in which I usually choose material on the spur of the 
moment.

I created a 25 minute piece called "Changes" that was used in the 
festival. I gave this piece to guitarist Mike Marando, who improvised 
a soundtrack. I used the first 10 minutes, and edited my original 
video in response to his music.
