Re: how to mangle with the loops on my oberheim edp.

Wow.. no wonder you are having trouble.. the edp, without the manual... Please excuse the caps, but ... PRINT IT OUT!!!!

Funny how you are refering to apps inside the edp.. its not a phone you know...??? Although its does almost everything else!

To cut a long story short. In addition to the things you can see on the front panel, there are lots of things a bit hidden.
Insert for example has many uses, and changes its use depending on how you have set it to respond. Try using Insert., now stop... go into the insert funtion (thats three presses of the Parameter button, THEN press Ins/Rev (why is the button called that anyone???) And then you can cycle thru the different settings of Insert. Pick a new one.. . not exit editting mode (a long press of the parameter button) and try again with Insert.

This way you will learn all the different inserts.. and maybe come across the illusive half speed function!!!

As Per says, its much better to get a midi pedal (or keyboard or drum machine) and access all these lovely functions directly rather than menu hopping.. Or at least you should learn how to SAVE your favorite combos of settings to a PRESET... then you can jump between different shades of weirdness...

I guess it's not as easy as the DL4 tho. From the DL4 i can just step on the 1/2 speed button to make everything go fast. I'm pretty sure EDP can do wonders more than the DL4. I'm still learning to understang the EDP unit. Thanx for your awesome feedbacks.

Halimski.
ps:- where can i find the user manual on how to use the EDP?

When I had an EDP I used the command Speed instead. It jumps one
octave up or down and changes the tempo to half or the double. The
outcome depends on where you are at when giving the command. If at
Normal Speed it goes HalfSpeed. If at HalfSpeed it goes "double speed"
(using quotation marks because there isn't actually a command with
that name, but if the function is still available)
