OT: Recording Drums - gear selection - the experiences

Some weeks ago, I had asked for recommendations regarding recording a
drumset, and had received a great amount of suggestions here (and would
again like to thank those people for it).

Now the recordings have been done, and here's the quick rundown:
1. For an acoustic-oriented recording (meaning no need to add dub delays
specifically to the snare or phaser specifically to the hihat etc.) in
an acoustically clean environment (no brass section or guitar amps
blasting away next to the drumset), the ideal setup are two
small-diaphgram condenser omnis as a wide-spaced stereo pair and a
large-diaphragm some distance away from the bass drum (which will both
boost the bass drum and fill the "center hole").
2. If you combine additional individual mikes with a wide-spaced omni
overhead pair, measuring the distances of the microphones to the
overhead pair and then applying a stereo delay to the close-mic tracks
works wonders for the room impression.
3. If you add some room mics in a room that is ok (I again used the
small-diaphram omnis), you can live without artifical reverb.
4. The StudioProjects C4 are crap mechanically. Exert great caution when
mounting the capsules.

Check out the track if you want to know what became of it:
