Re: syncing in mainstage

Hi,

not at the computer now, but i noticed when i was using sooperlooper as the master time source that it had an option to send out the "real" calculated tempo, or to send out a tempo rounded to the nearest integer. my drum loops were in ableton 6, which could only respond to the integral tempi, so i didn't get real sync until i chose that SL option. perhaps something like that is going on with your tracks?

i got away from static drum loops by using ableton's loop actions (forget what they're called at the moment) to semi-randomly cycle in one track through a bunch of related bass drum and snare patterns, and in another track to cycle through a bunch of cymbal patterns (using different cycling settings so that the two tracks mashed up in ever-changing ways). then i put the output of all those tracks through velocity semi-randomization and i think also varied the attacks a little bit. often, the cymbals were sampled loops and the bass/snare combination were midi tracks in ableton that i routed back to mainstage for rendering into audio.
