Re: recording (suggestions for ambient loopers)



hi thanks for the tips, i will keep that in mind... i had reduced the feedback while recording but havent understood yet how to export a performance from ableton looper ...so after the recording I inserted the clips manually...  the drag me function only exports the individual clips...
@jeremy, have been looping on and off in the last two years...

Beautiful.

Hope you don't mind a couple of suggestions.
(also for anyone doing the ambient improv thing)

1) Reduce feedback amount, especially once piece gets going. Even if feedback
is zero then 2 layers are heard.
2) Find some way to increase the loop length as the piece develops.
(often called Multiply).
3) An alternate way to end is to drop feedback gradually to zero, and sing/play
an ending.

Gradually building a loop that's short enough to be obvious is a classic
way to start, but once the loop gets full it's nice to have
somewhere else to go.
