IMHO this is when "the composer" succeeds in implementing a certain mindset, or attitude, into the listener to make the listener screen and filter the sound in a way that he/she experiences it "as music". I was not talking of "random music" if such even exists I think in praxis all (not just music) is partly under control and the part we cannot control, because we dont understand why it varies, we call random and thats where it get religious easily: what makes things vary by themselves? what is inspiration if not a force that makes you do something you never did? how would you grow without it? Personally I hate random/loss of control. But maybe I'm already a "random guy" who needs structure...
so: sure we need structure. but I doubt you hate the random part if its just a part :-)
Best random option: jam with people you don't know!
YES! pity loopers do it so rarely... is it because they use the looper as source of randomness?
