kim's influence....

i was pretty stunned to read the news of kim's passing last weekend.

and have enjoyed reading everyone's posts this week.

it is amazing how someone i never met, and was 1/2 a country away from me, could have an influence on me.

i have never played an EDP, but have certainly enjoyed the music that players using an EDP has made....

i guess over the last few days i was thinking of how kim influenced me....

when i joined LD back in '02 officially, i had lurked for probably close to a year...one of the first things i remember was

reading the posts about when Kim got his klein electric, his enthusism for his klein i think made me go ahead and attempt to build my 1st one (i couldn't afford one)...

and 17 months later mine was done....not perfect, but done....

his next area of influence was reading old posts about his going through his buckethead faze, and that has led me on my buckethead craze for the last 4 yrs...

 

mainly though, i'm glad he created this forum, and that i discovered it on a bored afternoon of work some 9-10 yrs ago...and it started me on my path of looping...

and the hrs of experimenting w/ my old digitech rp100 and it's 2 sec of delay....that's how i started....and then getting my dod d12 w/ it's 12 sec...that seemed like an eternity of loop time....
