Looped oud and new work
Each weekend I participate in posting new music created during the ImprovFriday event thread. The ImprovFriday web community is a wonderful gathering about 2 years old created by J.C. Combs. A few of us at LD are members. The music created for public post on the site
http://improvfriday.ning.com is all as the name suggests improvised on the spot.
Some of what I do is looped and some not. I just finished three pieces and posted. Two were looping. This one a mix of Digitech X series delay pedal using the reverse mode and a EHX 2880 4 track looper. Solo oud.
And this one sort of inspired by a Steve Tibbets Marc Anderson video earlier... again the EHX 2880, oud, voice and percussion.
Lastly and I forget if I mentioned this earlier to this community but I have a new in association with another artist, duo CD that is a benefit release for the
Junvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Int'l. It is a duo release recorded via NinJam and a few file exchanges via email, all with Peter Thörn a countryman of Per's in Sweden. Peter performs on saxophone, flutes, nyckelharpa and percussion and I on oud, violin, fretted and fretless guitars. The record is mostly free improvisation with a World organic feel but there are a couple of 'looping' pieces on it. The CD titled
From Brooklyn to Glindran is available as download or CD from Bandcamp at
http://jimgoodinpeterthorn.bandcamp.com. Daryl [Shawn] assisted me with producing by the way.
