OT: Lexicon Vortex (maybe) For Sale

Edward (and also possible buyers of course),

prices for the Vortex have sometimes been wildly changing, also caused
by the fact that some years ago, some new devices in original
packaging had suddenly surfaced (I got mine back then). Prepal lists
them at $157 (is this info still worth anything?).

As Ted already mentioned, Andy Butler and his Vortex Page
(http://www.andybutler.com/vortex/vortex.htm) are the most competent
source of info for that thing. I especially liked that phrase from
Andy's site: "The Vortex was the first of those four units to be
discontinued , essentially because no-one understood what it did."
That basically says it all.

Personally, apart from some of its algorithms which are kinda special,
I also like its very characteristic sound, which to me almost has some
kind of analogue feel. Some time ago when I rebuilt my studio thingie,
the Vortex suddenly became available again to be patched into the
setup, after it had been sitting around unused for several years.
A quick example:

- the delay on the snare drum in the part starting at 2:00 is a
Vortex.
