neither.

is it really a red C without a number?

I understood its with a number which indicates how many multiples you are going to have still

in case you press Multiply while Rounding - which is called the MultiplyIncrease

try it out or read about it in the manual to see whether its related to your problem

   >>> Yes. The pedal seem to interact kinda strange especially when i hit 'mute' and 'multiply'. 

          The mute button have problems when pressed and ooo appears at the display. This only 

          happens when the multiply malfunctions. Example; i'm making a short loop then i wanted 

          to play and loop something longer on top--ain't happening. Instead some random numbers

          appear on the display i.e; c2, c10 and so on.

my question was whether the problems only happen with the pedal or also with the front panel buttons

if they only happen with the pedal then the problem is the pedal (or the cable) !
