LET'S HIJACK THIS CONTEST....

Okay Gang!

I've been trading a couple of emails with Rick on this (who is
sooper-dooper busy planning LY2kX, so he's asked me to help out) and
it looks like there's quite enough anger here about the Boss
International Looping Championship -- especially since it's likely
neither "international" nor a fair "looping championship".

So let's do this thing!!!! Let's hijack this contest!

Step-by-step, here's how...

1.) Get a Looping video posted on YouTube. It doesn't matter if it's
a new video or if it's one you've put up on YouTube in the past.

Also, it doesn't matter if you're using Boss equipment or not.
Remember, that's all part of the protest.

2.) The title of every video must begin it's title with this phrase:
"BOSS LOOP CONTEST 2010". Use this exact wording and capitalization
to make sure that people looking for contest participants can find
you.

3.) Give the viewers some information about yourself and the gear
you're actually using. After all, one of the best things about this
hijack is the opportunity to use Boss' insensitivity to generate
interest for the legitimately talented musicians participating in
this subversion.

Also, don't forget to include some language explaining that this is a
legitimate protest, and point them back here to Loopers-Delight.

If you need help, here's some sample language. Feel free to use any
of it verbatim, or edit it as you wish:

>This video is a protest against BOSS' marketing and against this contest.
>
>An enormous Live Looping community already exists all across the
>globe. In fact, there have been 70 Looping Festivals in 20 different
>nations in the last 7 years alone. BOSS and their Marketing
>Department have so far shown no support for any of these activities.
>
>Many loopers do use BOSS loopers. But there are also thousands of
>people making great looping music with other devices. We feel it is
>presumptuous to call this an "International Looping Competition"
>when it is obviously oriented only to promote BOSS products.
>
>We do not believe they are running this contest to promote Looping
>and Music. Instead, we believe BOSS is sponsoring this only because
>they want to sell you something.
>
>If you are truly interested in Live Looping and genuinely wish to
>learn more, please come to http://www.loopersdelight.com -- the
>'Mecca' of the international Live Looping movement. We welcome
>everyone and would like to roll out the red carpet, especially to
>Boss RC-series Looping fans.

4.) Go to the contest submission form at
http://www.BossUS.com/LoopStation Enter in all the appropriate
information and submit your video into the 'contest'.

That's it!

Pretty simple overall. But be sure to let all of us know here at LD
when you've posted something. Not only will that make it easier to
track our progress, but it'll also give pointers to some great new
music or music we may have missed previously. :)

Good luck, and ganbatte!!!
