I have heard of the booze cruises:-) You should read carefully the part of the manual relating to Midi and instrument channels. Ableton is very reliable sobthe problem must be coming from your settings. Read the monitoring part in detail. An instrument can only be heard if in Monitor or in Record mode! Create several instruments on various midi channels. By default the midi input is set to omni (accepting input from all channels). Do this before the booze cruise:-) Lete know how it go! Antony
Sent from my iPhone Well if I knew how to do that, maybe I could fix what the problem is... but thanks for trying to help... I just tried a new Live Set... same
thing happens.. new sound will mean that I cant go back to the previous sound...
I find Live very frustrating.. I never get anywhere further with my piece I am trying to write cos Im always struggling with tech issues...
the boat eh? that would either be great (thinking Poirot here) or awful (thinking Danske Båt here, but you wont know what that is ha ha - basically the booze cruise between Norway and Denmark)

You havé to look into your MIDi settings on those channels, that's probably where thé trouble is coming from. Star fresh with a new session and assign différent channels to différent MIDI channels when you create them, then switch channels on your controllervto access the various channnels and see if that works.
Antony Hequet PS I was thinking of travelling by boat to avoid buyongbthe plane
Sent from my iPhone Yes, Im trying to have a few channels of different instruments. So when I drag an instrument in to a channel, it will play.. but if I bring another in, THAT will play... but ONLY that, now I can no longer get back to the original instrument.
I DID have it working once, where, whichever channel I selected it, the keyboard would play THAT instrument... PS, I also have real synths made of rock and wood, unfortunately, they wont let me bring them on a plane... or they will but I have to BUY the plane first.

Are you playing sounds in Ableton Live? Be gentle now... It really helps! Anyway, that's why I havé real synths made of rock and Wood. Give me some more specific info mauve I CAN sniff out that piano:-)

Sent from my iPhone Sorry if anyone thinks this is too OT for LD, but this QT goes to people with HI IQ.
Im in Abelton, got my Ozone keyboard plugged in.. I drag a piano over.. and play on the Ozone keyboard. lovely.. no problems
I spend a happy 15 minutes in C Minor, discovering the exquisite limitations of a 2 octave keyboard.
I drag a new sound over, this time a nasty synth sound... and play with that.. again,.. great, .. play with that for a bit, till the neighbors bang on the wall.
NOW select the Piano channel again.. no piano.. juts noisy synth... I DELETE noisy synth.. silence.. no piano... piano gone.. must have piano... bang rocks together ... hunt wilderbeast...
I WANT MY PIANO!!
