errrrr,   not entirely true,  Andy:

Check out 'The Crunge'  from Houses of the Holy,
a wonderful James Brown funk styled romp that continually changes time 
signature
and Bonham's not playing 4/4 over the top as he usually did.

I know, because I was in a Zepellin/Who cover band in 1972 and could NOT 
figure
that out at the time (much to my chagrin), because I was such a bone 
head 4/4 rock/funk drummer in those days.
It would be another 8 years before I taught myself how to read music.
