I use the Zoom as slave. Not the RC 50.
Not sure if it´s possible opposite. I remember from
previous discussions here,
that it may be problematic. Who knows?

sounds good I'll check it out!
I'm only a bit confused because I thought the rc-50 cannot be used as a
slave with midi. I thought it could only send a tempo signal to which other
devices can be synced but not the opposite. Or am I missing something
here?

Hi Andreas,
I´m using a Zoom RT 223. I sync it with the 3 phrases
of the RC 50, if that´s what you mean.
The internal drum patterns of the RC 50 are crap.
The Zoom sounds better and I can programm my
own patterns. I bought the Zoom just a few weeks
ago, but seems to be ok with quite good sounds
and easy handling, which is important to me. And it´s
cheap: 150 Euros.

Hi Christo
Which drum machine do you use? I'm also thinking about buying one at some
point. I guess you "sacrifice" one of the 3 phrases just for the drum loop
right?

Hi Paul,
the new Jamman Delay sounds quite interesting.
But I couldn´t find any information about Midi.
Does it have Midi? This is an option I like a lot
with my RC 50, as I´m using it with an external
drum machine and loops can be synced this
way.

RC-50
I've had both (am currently using a Digitech Jamman Delay - ow).
I really liked the new 'Rang a lot. The sound quality was pretty good
and the pedal action was acceptable. But--I really didn't like that
"circular" lighted construct at all. I found it confusing and
non-intuitive. And it was time consuming to reassign pedal functions.
I may purchase another one now that the new software version is
available.
As far as the RC-50 goes, I found that to be a somewhat flakey
device, i.e. the interface. A ot of button pushes bending over to
setup loops the way I wanted them (e.g. with the proper clicktrack
sound). But, maybe I'll get another one day and give it a second
chance.
I think the new Jamman w/Delay is an acceptable looper (my
favorite has always been the Gibson Echoplex Digital Pro followed
by the Electrix Repeater and then the original Jamman). No external
pedals are needed for loop-up and loop-down. It does save loops and
has a USB port. Quality is very good. The Delay is icing on the cake.

If you´re looking for a save and easy to handle
looping-device with lots of options, like storing f.inst., I
would recommend the RC 50. And it´s not expensive too. The thing
is, you can rely on it. It works. If I need my synthie-sound
loops to be more round, more smooth, I rather go for my RC 20
Delay functions. But all in all the RC 50 is a clever apparature
and a good compromise. Best, Christo www.christojota.de-------------------------------------------------- From:

I'm torn between the Boomerang 3 and the Boss RC-50. I've got
a Boomerang Plus which I love, but I want stereo ins/outs so I can
move my looper to the end of my signal chain. The Boomerang
would easily fit on my board, and like I said I love my Plus, but I
really like the idea of being able to save my loops. >
