RC-50 help

I bought an RC-50 a few weeks ago but couldn't figure out how to use it in 
time for tour. Now I'm home and I want to get that thing into service.

Can anyone tell me how to set it up for plain looping, with an arbitrary 
loop time and three empty buckets? Every time I think I have created a 
blank-slate setting, it turns out to have a preprogrammed loop duration 
and I can't make it do what I want. And I am not finding this information 
in the manual. Frustrating!
