hi Stephen,
that's a glitch rather than distortion.
Seems to be a discontinuity every 14 samples or so.
I'd guess that the dsp is done in blocks of 14 samples and that 
somehow line6 muddled up the direction for writing the overdub.

Anyway, likely it's a firmware bug, can't imagine what else.

If you wanted to prove it to line 6 you could make a wav file
of a single overdub on an empty loop, 
..that would make it possible to see for sure what was happening 
to the waveform.
