I agree here with only one additional comment. There is also the
determination of the "artist" validity i.e. can the person experiencing
the art trust the sincerity of the artist. Cubisim comes to mind here as I
find it hard to know if a cube drawn on a piece of canvass because that
was the style at the time expresses the intent to produce art or is just a
bandwagon product. Or, one could look at this as the old " give the
audience what they want " tactic, which I'm not so sure really constitutes
art.
