Re: softstep and mobius users
I'm using MidiMonitor right now to see what the SoftStep is sending.
Its very helpful.
I'm also seeing a slew of Control messages ....looks sometime like this:
00:21:34.659 From Port 1 Control 1 Sound Control 10 26
00:21:34.667 From Bus 1 Program 1 15
00:21:34.669 From Port 1 Control 1 Sound Control 10 107
00:21:34.679 From Port 1 Control 1 Sound Control 10 113
00:21:34.690 From Port 1 Control 1 Sound Control 10 115
00:21:34.700 From Port 1 Control 1 Sound Control 10 116
00:21:34.751 From Port 1 Control 1 Sound Control 10 114
00:21:34.761 From Port 1 Control 1 Sound Control 10 105
00:21:34.771 From Port 1 Control 1 Sound Control 10 60
00:21:34.781 From Port 1 Control 1 Sound Control 10 0
00:21:44.987 From Port 1 Control 1 General Purpose 5 0
Note though that the extra messages are from Port1 instead of Bus1
(i.e. IAC driver), so I've got both "SoftStep (Port1)" and "from
SoftStep 1" turned off in Ableton midi prefs and am only using my
crowded IAC driver (I also use the IAC to make Ableton trigger itself
and SooperLooper)
They insist on using only the IAC driver in the SoftStep manual. I
don't understand why when it seems to show up as its own input in
Ableton but I don't really know the details of how these things work.
As long as it works!
