Not the 4, but I was once lent a GNX3000 for testing. It was crap for
looping, because the built-in recoding option is designed for learning
parts of recorded music rather than for performing. But the effects,
amp and cabinet simulation, called "Component-Based Modeling", sounds
excellent! I briefly read up on the GNX4 now and its spec's doesn't
list that technique so maybe it doesn't sound as good? Both units are
discontinued by now and I have no idea which one is the modern. Seems
the 4 has a more advanced recorder, but I would guess it is not fun to
loop with that. Better then use it as a sound creating pre amp and
loop its sound with a real looper. Why don't don't you plug in and
check it out? Must be quicker and more accurate than asking here as
you have the GNX4 as close as under your son's bed ;-)
