It really depends on the user. I'd say most of the users I know (myself included) still use it as a record/playback device to enhance their instrument. One rule of thumb might be: how often do you put the guitar down and just play the looper? ...but I'm pretty strict with my definition of instruments. For example, I don't consider midi controllers to be instruments either. (They're interface devices for computers, which are the instruments.) -- Matt Davignon mattdavignon@gmail.com www.ribosomemusic.com Rigs! www.youtube.com/user/ribosomematt Andy Owens <andy@1800dialword.com> was all: > With all this script talk and etc, it makes me see that in some ways a > looper starts becoming an instrument vs a record/instantplayback device. >At > some point arent you just really building sounds like you would on a >moog or > something, versus capturing musical sounds that you've played? > From a business, product veiwpoint it would seem to be the reverse of > dumbing down a product, to dumb it up so high that it might scare off a > large percentage of the people that might use it.
