powering a U.S. 9vac 115 with a 9vac 220 adaptor

hi folks,
im buying a device thats 9VAC 300mA from the states,is it ok to to
just replace the power supply with a european one? most of the ones i
bought overthere have worked with no problems,but just want to make
sure,this is an older device.
