re: FRO vs SXSW

@ mark - yup! recorded live in the half of the garage that used to be my studio/living space ;o)
i now live and pracgice out of my van, so future videos will reflect this new environment-

@ louie

long time to see homie,
ill do my best to give ya some insight-

thank you for the compliments- i was about 2 years into this adventure when i discovered ryen for the first time.... was truly breathtaking
then when i found dubfx, it gave me hope i could have the same success in a mobile environment...so far so good ;o)

vocal sounds = POD X3
keyboard sounds  = roland fantom with lots of SRX expansions
drum sounds = roland fantom, but with custom samples - alesis AI3 trigger i/o

FBC is the only thing that controls mobius
mobius does indeed do all my tone switching for me.... i did not implement this until about 6 months ago...at the end of the day i realized im a looper, not a tap dancer ;o)

i do play to a click as i could not leave the tempo of the song up to my human error.... if the tempo is off by 1-2 BPMS i go crazy...
this does limit what i can do, but i look forward to finding ways to change tempos w/ mobius in the future

i dont play out with it very often as it seems counter productive, i can reach more people via the internet than i can playing small clubs-
hopefully building an internet fan base will lead to the ability to tour, as i desperately wish i was performing live every night

set up time depends on the scenario.....

if my van is directly outside of the club, by myself i can load in and start the first song in 25-30 minutes.
if my gear is already side of stage and partially put together, 10-15 minutes up and down-

in the future, when production is possible, i will fit on a 8 x 8 drum riser and can be rolled on & off stage at will....so literally 60 seconds on and off as i only have 2 audio lines going to FOH...im hoping to land a gig as an MC for a festival type show where i come out and entertain between bands-

ive been a roadie/audio engineer most of my life, so i do exceed in the setup/tear down aspect of everything-
looms are key....a roll of electrical tape goes a long way

hope that helps man, keep on truckin
