I too made that false assumption first. The name "Audio Switcher" may be misleading because it works even without an audio through-put. I have used that technique in Bidule setups to activate and deactivate huge systems of MIDI driven software instruments and effect plugins. Just look at it as an advanced and totally programmable "on/off button" :-)) If you "don't know", just set up a small pilot test for five minutes to see how it works.
