Online, I see releases as Albums, EPs and Singles. I think something's only called a 45 if it's on a 7" vinyl. My favorite 45 as a kid was Warren Zevon "Werewolves of London" - though my sister and I preferred to listen to it at 33 rpm. I miss the days of CD singles, where they'd often be 30 to 40 minutes long with several different versions of the song. This makes me sound dated, but I really liked all the weird versions of NIN's "Closer" that were on the cd single. -- Matt Davignon mattdavignon@gmail.com www.ribosomemusic.com Rigs! www.youtube.com/user/ribosomematt On Thu, Apr 7, 2011 at 10:39 AM, Scott Hansen <evanpeewee@gmail.com> wrote: > theoretically-wouldn't this be a 45? 2 tracks put on the smaller vinyl > album, there's an "A" side (main single) and the "B" side-the > lesser-throwaway in old music biz terms? > ahhhhh. > the 45...my younger bro had lots of 45s back in the 70s: heart baracuda, >kc > & sunshine band: im your boogie man....i think he had others, those were >the > main ones we listened to!!! > ha! > s--- > > Thanks Ted > > Agreed, its not an album - its a single but Bandcamp don't have a way of > bundling 2 tracks as a single :) > > The album is out next month. > > On 7 Apr 2011, at 01:45, tEd ® KiLLiAn wrote: > > >> Fun tracks Matt. >> >> But when did two under-five-minute tracks start amounting to an "album"? >> >> Not to pick nits, or complain, but I am curious. >> >> Is this a new trend that has totally blown past me 'cuz I'm an old > >>geezer? >> >> Best, >> >> Ted >> >> On Apr 4, 2011, at 8:58 AM, Matthew Stevens wrote: >> >>> Hi guys >>> >>> This is my band project The Fierce And The Dead, the intro is an > >>ambient live loop that we tightened up later on :) >>> >>> http://thefierceandthedead.bandcamp.com/album/10x10 >>> >>> Matt Stevens > >> > >
