Thanks for posting these links Louie, maybe if any good comes out of this, it will be to wake up the world to move away from nuclear energy and on to cleaner more sustainable forms of energy. When the quake and Tsunami hit Japan last month, my wife Nancy and I were on our way to North Carolina and for the first few days we were in Asheville, all we could do was watch the tragedy unfold on TV. I started to e-mail friends in Japan not knowing at that point if any were in harms way or note, luckily they weren't. But as the gravity of the event started to take shape, perhaps the worst natural catastrophe meets human error that I will ever see in my lifetime, I started to try and organize a benefit back home in Santa Cruz to help the Japanese people, of which, most of the victims are average hard working citizens that had nothing to do with the big government and power broker stupidity that is causing the worst nuclear event since Chernobyl, compounding one of the biggest and most devastating quakes in recorded history. A month later we are still struggling to organize an event that is more than a token gesture of support and solidarity for the Japanese people, and I'm dismayed to se that not much has been done in the way of big media sponsored events like the Haitian relief benefits. Where are our self congratulating celebrities waving their hands and singing "we are the World"??? I think that as much as radiation poisoning stokes our fears we can't loose sight of the fact that regardless of where you stand on the issue, our Japanese brothers and sisters need our help desperately and will so for the foreseeable future, and I urge everyone on this list to do what they can to help.
