Cool sounds, Per!  Certainly, I'll have to check expert sleepers Oomingmac out for synth soloing. Anyhow, the Sonuus had also mono conversion, only.

Another option could be to convert your instruments analog signal to a
synth wave form. No extra gear and no extra latency. Does only work
for monophonic playing though, no chords allowed (if you don't want
glitchy and trashed up tone character). Expert Sleepers' Oomingmac
plugin is good at that. For an example of the Oomingmac sound you can
