ProEf (iNSiDEaMiND) . Cheldon Paterson (Professor Fingers - ProEf) labels himself a "electronic musician." He should be calling himself a "electronic artist," since the music he makes as Professor Fingers is currently Toronto's most inventive approach to performance art. With a sound dark and brooding, or fantastical and wondrous, Professor Fingers creates fresh worlds in every track. Fingers also embraces live performance, putting on a show that includes costumes and props, scripted theatrics, storytelling and loads of improvisation. Between himself and his music, Professor Fingers engages you to join in the fun. His willingness to engage the audience has allowed him to cross Toronto's live music communities and he can be seen just as comfortable on an underground hip-hop bill or between a noise punk band and a folk orchestra. Professor Fingers is set to release his anticipated debut album "The Door - Lost World" this Summer. -Kevin P- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVYFO8UsiX8 A true feat in turntable manipulation that's been quietly sharpening over the last 11 years. While most producers have long abandoned the art of sampling vinyl records, ProF a seasoned professional turntable musician has chosen to take the art form leaps further. Forget about sampling breaks, ProEf uses audio imperfections and distorted sounds as his main ingredients to create deep mentally stimulating rhythmic landscapes. Fusing his scratch wizardry and attention to detail with bold sound adventures, Professor Fingers creates fresh rhythms and textures with his finely tuned skills, as recently witnessed during a live performance at the legendary composer Steve Reich's tribute at the Gardiner Museum. The Door - Lost World is his latest offering and debut album, a series of trippy off beat instrumental and vocal songs that seem to take on a new life with every listen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsj2mOnaSA4 http://www.myspace.com/professorfingers . NOiNO . It's been 5 long years since NOiNO last tuned up their radios to warp out the found airwaves at a PiNG RiA show. In fact, it's also been years since NOiNO last performed, so James Bailey, Matthew Poulakakis and Jamie Todd are excited to be back to trap the airwaves into loops, various efx and synthesizers. Reception as sound source meant to be manipulated in real time will be the order of the night. There may be transmissions, there will be guests as dreamSTATE's Scott M2 will be sitting in and there will definitely be weirdness as sound is found and twisted. http://www.myspace.com/noinocanada . GENERAL CHAOS VISUALS . Guys playing radios - sounds like a night when the chaotic light paintings of General Chaos Visuals will be needed, so we've invited Stephen Lindsey and Eric Siegerman back out to mesmerize us with their wildly improvised analog projections. http://webhome.idirect.com/%7Eslindsey . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
