Basic equipment is just as proper as complex equipment. The most common looping equipment I see is DL-4s and Loopstations. Also, being a looper in a band context, it's better to not be distracted by all the bells and whistles and feelings of "I'm only using 10% of my looper's brainpower!" ...or drowning out the rest of the band with your multiple versions of yourself! I think it's important to get the looping device to work for your band, rather than vice versa. The DL-4 starts out good and modest for band applications. -- Matt Davignon mattdavignon@gmail.com www.ribosomemusic.com Rigs! www.youtube.com/user/ribosomematt On Mon, May 16, 2011 at 1:24 PM, Matt Stevens <mattstevensguitar@btinternet.com> wrote: > Thanks Jason - i don't really feel like a "proper looper" cause i use >very > basic equipment :) > Matt Stevens > http://www.fierceandthedead.com > http://www.mattstevensguitar.com > http://www.spencerparkmusic.com > mattstevensguitar@btinternet.com > On 16 May 2011, at 17:44, jason finnern wrote: > > Cool stuff > > ________________________________ > From: Matt Stevens <mattstevensguitar@btinternet.com> > To: Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.com > Sent: Mon, May 16, 2011 5:51:29 AM > Subject: Looping in a band context/new album spam :) > > Hi guys > Just wanted to play this, its my band project - lots of ambient DL4 >loops: > >http://thefierceandthedead.bandcamp.com/album/if-it-carries-on-like-this-we-are-moving-to-morecambe > this track is all DL4 loops: > http://thefierceandthedead.bandcamp.com/track/hotel-no-6 > What i really wanted to try was them in context of a very loud >improvising > rock band. > Let me know what u think....
