Bill speaks the truth..  provided that your impedance is not mismatched.  
Check the DM 1000 manual to determine output impedance on the Aux buss.  
Is it +4?  I think LP-1 is not a +4 device. If you match your impedance, 
then the "weak signal" coming from DM1000 will not be necessary.
