The StN editor has a new job, I believe, and certainly very few people are getting rich from music publishing these days so fair enough that he has to switch focus. That mag is very much a one-person show. An annual could work but obviously it has to move away from reviews and move to long-form pieces. I'm currently enjoying the first issue of Loops, which seems to be coming out once a year, and it's good reading - http://www.loopsjournal.com/ Too bad I can only enjoy the first issue so far as the publisher hasn't seen fit to an official overseas release of the 2nd issue. ted.
