Re: GR-55 (Re: What is Boyson doing exactly?)

Yes I like the GR-55 a lot too. Here's what I just recorded with it today:

You can hear the bad buzz noise in the very first feedback notes. That
sucks, but I kept it anyway since that's not a major part of the piece
- and after all, back when we recorded on analog every damn cable
fizzled like this! ;-))

Everything in this recording goes through the GR-55. The two e-bow
guitars (Epiphone Les Paul) do; one with just the GR-55 limiter and
the other one with whawha-pedal and the "Jazz Combo" amp sim of the
GR-55 (the only amp sim I found useful). The sitar guitar is played
with the Stick - that has the GK-3 mounted - and uses no direct sound,
just the Cosm modeled "Coral Sitar Guitar". I layered two synth string
tones behind the sitar tone for sweatening. The bass was played on the
Stick Guitar's bass fretboard using the same "Jazz Combo" amp sim in
the GR-55.
