Re: Interesting critique of Wednesdays' Y2KX+1 show

lol.  Amazing.  I've lost ALL perspective on what's avant-garde and what's 'conventional'.  It all sounds joyous to me, all part of one continuum.  Unless it seems inauthentic, insincere, less than thoughtful and not taken seriously in preparation or execution.  That's when my labels pop up in my head.  Amazing how different our perspectives are as humans. Of course, bring an African traditional musician to that same concert, and get a completely different take on it...

set flattering,  I did not agree in the slightest with the 'take'

Might one of the three Santa Cruz days feature more "conventional" music?

Anyone else who was there,  care to weigh in on this comment.
Of all the sets, I only thought Nat Grant's was experimental and non-prorgammatic
but maybe I'm getting used to going to looping festivals.
