Yup, or even bagpipes *before* the bag :-)
That instrument ('launeddas' in Sardinia)  goes back 3000 yrs.

The modern day Launeddas has the clever feature that the lowest
note from each 'chanter' blends into the drone so well that
staccato playing can be simulated while circular breathing.

...and it's just 6 bits of reed put together with string and wax.
