very strange in deed! hardly a hardware problem i guess you disconnected everything, especially the MIDI in to make sure that the problem is inside the EDP, right? after it goes silent, does the loop level LED indicate that the sound is still in the memory or really gone? if you then go to Mute and play it like a sample with Multiply or Insert, does it come back? if you do not program your settings or only certain parameters and then reboot, the same happens? "after the second of record" means after second press or after the second recording (or a second of recording :-) ? do you use the Loop/Delay or InterfaceMode parameter?
