However, the tracking is supposed to be better. And it's tiny!

I can say that from my recent experience with the GR-55 I actually enjoy playing GR-55 synth sounds that follow pitchbend and use it more to blend with the string sound into a unified sound (rather than as a complement). But for me it never reaches the same playability and expressiveness as the pure string sound (or as if using an EWI as the hands-on instrument).
