Hi Mark,
It wasn't the use of an expletive per se (believe me, Americans are as foul mouthed as anyone) as the tone of presumptive dismissiveness it implied, which, I thought was undeserved.
As I noted in my original post, when you have a career 40+ years long there are going to be ups and downs. And true, it happens in my opinion too that in TD's case the earlier years really were their best (though who knows, a younger generation might find that music painfully dull). Also true, they have put out some undeniable clunkers along the way, mostly in the last 15 years or so. Nevertheless, there are still enough gems mixed in there even in the newer stuff that they don't deserve to be written off. I do agree with you though that it ain't what it used to be. But they had to evolve like everything else and sometimes it's for the better and sometimes not. And they do keep experimenting
As to sounding like elevator music - well, when I heard, "We Are the Champions", in one I figured all bets are off. :-)

I think I tried to explain why I used the "shit" word... seems to have exposed a few nerves...
