Thanks guys!

My mention of the praising what you have wasn't directed at anyone on this forum. I was reading some interface threads on other forums that deteriorated into complete messes. 

That's one of the things I like about this place--that doesn't happen.

I just talked to someone who is liquidating their home studio gear and they have an A&H ZED R16 in great condition for about 800 dollars. it wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but the price is right. I know the AD/DA converters aren't great, but they will probably do for me right now. It will be nice to have a little mixing desk too--like Philip said, clearly labeled faders are really nice to have.

I'm leaning pretty hard in that direction right now. I'll call back tomorrow and see what I can work out. I'll let you know what i decide.

Not my claim, I was only poking fun at something Phillip said in his post.  People naturally talk about what they own and recommend what worked well for them.  I see no cause for cynicism.
