I recently bought a G5. Weird thing about the unit-there is no global output volume knob. Running it into a combo amp input is challenging if previewing presets as the preset volume varies greatly.
I ran it into my mixer with better results mostly due to the more pleasing stereo handling of the mixer re: delay sounds.
I really like the unit. I think the sounds are much better than the Line6 HD500 and the ease of use factor trumps the HD500 hands down. The looper on the unit is easy to use. For fun looping, the G5 cant be beat. Within a few minutes time, it is easy to record loops, add drum patterns, change patches while looping.
The amp modelling is very good, too. On their own, without effects, the models sound good. For $300 USD, a good buy. IMHO.
Regards, Paul
