I use a Roland AC-60 and a Mackie SRM150.

I plug my mic and pedals into the Mackie and use it as my monitor; the 
"THRU" output goes to the Roland (line input). The Roland faces the 
audience, and also provides me with signal for my recording device.

Hearing exactly what goes out through the PA is important, since I can't 
be standing out in front of the system while I'm singing through it.
