I too am a developer, should say 'budding', have two iOS apps out which the second one is music related.  Not looping but is a player of 'new music' works created by fellow artists in another online community I'm part of known by Sound-In.  I built the player universal (iPhone/Touch/iPad) using core audio techniques.  It currently features 18 tracks and will be ongoingly curated every few weeks.  Here is the link for those interested, it's free to download, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sound-in-new-music-event-player/id694702038?mt=8.
