May be even worth feeding it into a midi monitor. (I don't have a sidecar, but may get round to doing this with the rang itself) That's a bit of a cryptic answer, could just mean that the midi commands aren't those commonly found in commercial controllers. I'd got the impression that it was similar to midi electrically, but not actually midi.
We MAY add remote MIDI control in a future software update as several players have asked for that capability.

This leads me to think that connecting the sidecar to a serial port and listening in to whatever it sends out may be worthwhile.
