Re: Which Exp/Sustain/Controller jack pedals, for what, and why?

Thanks Dennis. I usually find that if I try asking something like that on busy FB groups, and hope to get feedback from various people, it gets drowned out by other more recent posts too quickly..Something about the way FB is setup, you have to actively search for something and hope it appears, and is recent enough to be "relevant" or recent enough for you to accidentally be viewing the group around the time that specific post is posted. Or you have to scroll through page after page of content, which is for better or worse, mostly links/videos/audio/self-promotion.

I try to avoid wasting my days looking at how other people loop, and that's not to diss or dismiss the folks that likes to spend their time watching how other people loop.

Discussing technical issues and preferences in setup and equipment to use, discussions about the industry and techniques, helping each other dealing with certain hard or software etc. is what I find immensely interesting. It's kinda like many people that play one genre, tend to not listen to that genre a lot (after some years at least) because they're already doing it so much themselves that they kinda wanna take a break from it and/or listen to something completely different to get inspiration :)

Also I find that I save a lot of money by getting good advice from the community, instead of having to do trial and error. I have LOVED my Rang lll since day one, and am sure I'll love my cheap Hungarian noiseless usb controller switches. Now I'm hoping to find the right handful of the most loveable "exp" pedals, and then perhaps all my looping dreams will come true :)

Torben,

As the person who originally set up the FaceBook group for Looper’s Delight, please feel free to post your query there. If anyone has an issue with it, please contact me either here or via the FaceBook page … Jeff Prickchart is NOT an admin for that group so his comment is irrelevant.

Tried asking this on the FB group, but Jeff Prickchart thought it was too offensive to call the LD FB group link spammy (God I miss the good o'l forum days where you could actually ask questions and get peoples advice, without having your topic be buried by endless pages of what I would consider borderline spam, so here goes nothing:

I'm about to get some exp pedals or "something to stick into exp/controller jack inputs".

Got 3 open female slots just waiting to be used.

Was gonna go for 3 Roland EV-5's can't find any good current deals on 'em (I'm cheap, but don't wanna get the cheaper equivalent as reviews tell me something like the EV-5 is the tried and tested thing to pick), but I don't really need 3 volume/wah pedals (already got 1 ev-5 hooked up to the Rang III, and as has been discussed, can't use more than 1 on the Rang III unfortunately, due to endless digital encoders and non-existant additional jacks). Already have 16 stomp type buttons that I can basically have control anything, be on/off or latching etc. AnI got one Roland DP-10 sustain/damper pedal (that I love), thinking of maybe getting one more, so I have one already to use as keyboard sustain, but then I could add another one for "sustaining" my guitar/bass or similer, where it would be prefered over a traditional button.. So I was thinking:

What sort of pedals for those type of exp/control/sustain/damper (stereo/trs) jacks do you guys use, what do you prefer to use for live performances, with what type of effect(s)/what are you typically using said controller pedals for?

Cheers,
