Re: So what music are you listening to now?

I know about this one!
Lately, though, my wife, music deprived, as decided to raid the studio and Spotify to listen to music.  It's been a real blast to listen without goals. Mostly she wants to hear oldies - from the 60s and 70's - the last time she had time to listen to music.  So we've wandered the gamut.  Gotta tell you, my current discovery is Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys.  Amazing how that record skipped over me back in the day. Maybe I just associated the Beach Boys with surfing music?  Who knows?

It is fun to listen for pleasure.  Fun to go back to my roots and sort of retrace my wide ranging steps through music.  In my normal day, last thing I wanna do after hours of working on music is listen to music.  I prefer birds, the whispering forest, the crunch of my feet on the trails.  But it's been a great reminder of why I do it.

Will these listening fests last?  Hard to say, but it has been big fun.  Next round I want to hear John Fahey (close friend), Leo Kottke and some of those guys.

Great stuff.
Richard

I wrote something else yesterday, but time flies and today I'm into
Weather Report. Especially the Mysterious Traveller album.

For the last year, the trend here is that I tend to listen to styles
that I'm at the moment composing and recording in. A sad fact of life;
but there is never time left for pure enjoyment listening.
