Re: Ableton Live and plug-ins preset change

thank you Per,

one question: which advantages do I get when putting my plugins in a rack instead of adding them to the same track?
Also, is there a way to set several plugins to react to a certain program change.
Say I want to set them all on midi channel #1 and send PC#14 to recall a certain specific memory.
Is this possible?

I like the idea of the rack but I see that I miss the chance to visualize all plugins state (bypass) as this useful advice makes possible:

This is very useful to check the global plugins' state on a shot.

What do you think about it?

Thanks!
Luca

Use a rack to pre-load several instances of the plugin. Each instance with a unique  preset. Use a MIDI CC for external switching; each of the 128 possible CC values corresponds with one of rack's layers.

I remember someone on the list came up with this topic sometime ago.

It looks like this is pretty obscure theme and I'd like to know if the thread opener found a lean solution.

Thank you!

Luca
