How about considering something that is a Delay rather than a Looper?

If you don't want long loop lengths then that's definitely an easy option.

There are a number of delays available that let you set feedback to 100%,
perfect for drone loops and with the added advantage that you can drop
the feedback down a bit for a fade, or to evolve the loop with new material.
