Greetings Fellow Loopers!
The NW LoopFest has come and gone. And 2017 could be the final NW LoopFest. It's been 5 years of electronic fun: new bands, new tech, new sounds. I'm not sure when I'll be back in the Pacific NW, if ever. The independent spirit is alive and well up there, but alas, there really isn't a community hanging together although the noise/experimental scene seems to be blossoming. And it's just too hard to try and run the thing when I've been gone 5 years and live 2,000 miles away. But at least the video archive will live on as a testament to the many artists who chose to participant.
This year's festival was in Newport, OR and featured a lot of first time loopfest performers.

watch?v=UqmZwompN0w&list= PLjiWJF83CBinlgQ- W9p33aJtraH9Axo_a I was the opening performer. It was nice to actually play this year although I did short set. I debuted my new program "i sing the sax electric" which focuses less on structure and tunes and is more riff and beat based with the addition of some tech. I've enjoyed the "Solo Sax Sessions" but I had been feeling quite stale with it for some time. This was the beginning of a new direction for my own looping which I've been enjoying ever since.
Here's my two videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?
