WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 10TH 2018 . PiNG:10:10:18
THE AMBiENT PiNG presents A Moment of Release +
The Body in Question + Tacet Tacet Tacet feat. PGR
+ General Chaos Visuals
@ Handlebar . 159 Augusta Ave . Toronto, ON Canada
https://www.thehandlebar.ca
(Kensington Market) West of Spadina & North of Dundas
1st set at 9:00pm . $8-10 into the lunchbox on the bar.

.. 9:00 . A Moment of Release . Formed in late 2016,
A Moment of Release is Wes Orlik. A multi-instrumentalist,
recording engineer, producer and remixer, Orlik puts away
the driving guitars and aggressive electronics that lead his
earlier paths in music, and takes a step back with a starker,
minimalist approach, creating lush, ambient, and at times
harsh landscapes created entirely with analog synthesizers.
Beginning with 2017’s debut, EMANATE, and continuing with
2018’s pair of EPs, STILL and DRIFT, A Moment of Release’s
music is “a soundtrack for a film that was never made” – a
beautiful, sometimes haunting ambiance that encourages
the listener to paint their own imagery.

.10:00 . The Body In Question plays experimental electronic
music. Our influences include Zoviet France, Nurse With
Wound, Cul De Sac, Tod Dockstaeder, Lorde Awesome,
Miles Davis (especially the Bitches Brew years), Black Dice,
Kieren Hebden and Steve Reid to name just a few. We are
interested in what Damo Suzuki calls spontaneous
composition but also don't mind digging in for a fierce
chaotic improvisational jam from time to time. Always,
at the core of what we do, is the spirit of exploration
and experimentation. The Body In Question is:
Charles Hackbarth (guitar, synths and samplers) and
Marc Cohen (keyboards) with guest vocalist Lady Parul.

.. 11:00 . Tacet Tacet Tacet feat. PGR . Tacet Tacet Tacet
is an experimental music project born in late 2013 lead by
Francesco Zedde and supported by the collaboration of
several musicians and visual artists. Collaborating with
Franscesco for this performance will be PGR with his
field recording live manipulation.
